Globalisation has completely disconnected us from the reality of how our clothes are made. At treen, we address this disconnect head-on by demanding honesty from our brands. We meticulously research the brands we work with before adding them to our core collection (learn more about Our Values and how they inform our buying process).
"Ethically made" is one of our values. Vague supply chains threaten our industry's future so we deep-dive into the specifics of how our styles are manufactured. Encouraging progress is being made on disclosing supplier lists. Many brands are utilising tech to support them with this, such as BCome and Provenance. Fair fashion, to us, is made by happy people.
Since our inception, we've supported Fashion Revolution. They campaign for a clean, safe, fair, transparent and accountable fashion industry. The #whomademyclothes hashtag has been shared over 930k times (and counting) on Instagram. How inspiring!
We wanted to shine the spotlight on our brands that are leading with transparency. These lovingly made styles will be in your wardrobe for the rest of your life—a testament to their quality and attention-to-detail.
Kowtow
Classic Tee
All of Kowtow's garments are certified by Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO) and made in a traceable supply chain, which works with Fairtrade-certified farmers and manufacturers from seed to garment. Their commitment to fair wages, no child labour, workers’ rights, gender equality and grower community has been at the heart of Kowtow since day one.

Unfeigned
Polo Shirt
Unfeigned produces locally with responsible and sustainable manufacturers who are located in Portugal and Spain. Every employee works in the best environment possible, is treated with respect, given fair wages and there is no child labour.

Skall Studio
Edgar Shirt
Skall Studio sources its cotton and linen from India, which is where their GOTS-certified factory is situated. The Skall sisters lived and worked in India so they have a special affinity with the country. The sisters were connected to the factory long before Skall Studio was founded; their mother (also a designer) worked with the factory for 20+ years.

Thinking Mu
Hemp Travel Pants
Every garment comes with a transparency tag; the QR code summarises the garment’s impact and the story behind it. The data has been carefully traced and verified by BCome. They track everything from the place of production to the carbon footprint, as well as how many hands worked on that individual garment.
