It's been a while. We've missed you! Not long before we can open our doors to you all again, but before we do, we wanted to give it up for the local independent shops, restaurants, cafes and communities that deserve a shout out for how they've lifted our spirits throughout lockdown. Let's take a moment to praise this inspiring lot.
Hendersons
Let's start strong because these guys have been keeping us all stocked up on store cupboard treats, and we're forever grateful. Their incredible selection of vegan friendly, allergy friendly, all round friendly food and drink has been a welcome treat (particularly their 'make your own granola' kits - a satisfying lockdown activity if ever we saw one.
Style Your Spaces
If you could bottle up positivity and nature at its most beautiful, it would be a sell-out. Oh wait, that's what Katie from Style Your Spaces has been doing for us all throughout the past few months. Inimitable floral arrangements to put a huge smile on your face - or someone else's - in thematic colours. Fresh and dried bouquets delivered to your door.
The Good Store
Low waste wasn't exactly made easy by the pandemic, with the need for stocking up seeming to outweigh the need to minimise our rubbish. But the wonderful pair at The Good Store kept their online doors open so we could keep our options just as open. All organic deliveries of groceries - without the plastic.
Smith & Gertrude
Hands up who's needed wine more than ever? The team at S&G didn't disappoint, constantly adapting to the changing regulations and bringing us all the next level food and drink we could ask for. With pick up lunches to go at the start of lockdown, and wine deliveries throughout, these guys even dropped off a bottle of vegan bubbles to us for an Instagram live event we were part of. Incredible!
Catalog
We may be biased but Catalog have done the best job throughout the past few months in keeping things as seamless as possible. Still continuing to offer online orders so we all had an opportunity to keep going on the home improvement, they have also managed to keep navigating their upcoming move into a brand-new showroom. Absolute stars.
Fortitude
Just like wine, coffee has been another one on the top of our essentials list. Our new neighbours and much-loved coffee hang out, Fortitude, had just opened their beautiful new shop around the corner from us before the lockdown hit. They carried on selling us all their beans online, and then got back in the shop as soon as was safe to do so - now takeaway is a part of our daily routine again. We're all in to keep supporting them grow.
Lifestory
This one stop lifestyle shop for Scandi design is the type of place you want one of everything. Susan, the owner, has been nothing short of amazing during this time - distanced local deliveries (one to us too!), endless sources of inspiration shared on Instagram and lots of lovely pictures of her sweet dog Rufus. Nessy (treen shop dog) says hi!
Space at Seventeen
Never one to miss an opportunity to support small businesses, the wonderful Jess of Space at Seventeen (our first pop-up location) took it in her stride and whilst the space was closed, provided something different to keep us all connected. Her brilliant IG live series named Talking Shop chatting to local business owners managed to help make us all remain in the community loop, with Q&A's from Meraki, Style Your Spaces, The Little Chartroom and our very own Cat! A reminder of just how lucky we are to have her support.
Our Lovely Goods
By name and by nature, Our Lovely Goods (our neighbours not that long ago whilst this dream duo popped up in Space at Seventeen) continued to send out some of the most beautifully curated gifts we've seen to date, with their candles and handmade wares top of the list. They've been ideal for birthday needs across the months, and for much needed decompression evenings when it all got a bit much. We suggest you order one of their candles, light it up and take a moment for yourself.
What a place to call home. We'll be back together before you know it! Take care all
