Positive vibes only

In our own words, we're taking a moment. It's been an upside-down year or so. And in here there's been a lot of change, from a new store, to bringing in menswear and growing our team. We thought it was a good time to take a minute to check in with you all to explain exactly why we do what we do. Have a read below to find out more about our brand values and why we think fashion can be a happy place to be.

No animals come to harm.

When Cat first came up with the idea for the store, it stemmed from wanting somewhere to shop for her wardrobe that married up with how she ate. Realising that vegan product led retailers were few and far between, she set about gathering the brands she admired that already made fashion in a way that avoided any harm at all to animals. No wool, leather, silk or other animal-derived fabrics needed. No compromise on seriously covetable pieces either. Beautiful, easy to style wardrobe additions that just so happen to be extremely kind too.

Minimum impact on the planet.

A killer wardrobe without killing the planet. Does what it says on the tin (or in our case, on our store front windows). We only stock brands that take their impact on the natural world around us seriously, coming up with often innovative and industry leading techniques to create products that hit the spot for functionality and feel, but minimise the harm that producing fashion can have on our home. Our brand list may have grown since we first opened doors 18 months ago, but our values remain strong. We research each brand we take on closely so you can shop knowing we've done the leg work checking their sustainable creds. Get to know some of the front runners here.

Made by happy humans.

Keeping a check on how the people behind your new purchases are treated is of equal importance to us. We know the harsh reality of many supply chains in the fast fashion industry after many years of experience, and we've always celebrated and stocked those brands that are finding an alternative the sad 'norm' and keep things kind for their workers. Fair pay, fair treatment, fair trade. You can read more about who made your clothes here, and why it's so important to us.

Forget stereotypical seasons.

Easy to say, but we're all guilty of falling into the habit of buying new for each and every season, occasion and event. Not that we don't think you should treat yourself to the right pieces but we are all about keeping things classic yet modern so you'll be looking forward to pulling out those knits year after year. Instead we side step obvious trends and are led in the pieces we stock in store by timeless colours, incredible feeling fabrics, and cuts that work styled by many. Think being excited about building your wardrobe - not replacing it each season. You can get some more tips about how to make your investments last longer here.

Brown paper packages? Make them eco.

And we've said it before, but in when it comes to packaging do judge a book by its cover. As we've grown up this past year we've stayed true to our values when it comes to how your pieces go home with you, or get shipped in your direction. We make sure that every design decision we make reflects our values, leading to planet friendly recyclable - and recycled - mailers and bags printed with water based inks, eco-friendly paper stock for our business cards and postcards, and organic cotton for our treen printed totes (coming soon online to buy!). Get the lowdown, have a read here.

Open book policy over here, we love to share and chat more about what we do. Got a question, or want to dig a bit deeper? We are always on hand to help out, just drop us an email or message us on Instagram with anything that is on your mind.
