Recipe: Cocktails to make at home

Anyone else about ready for a cocktail?

Mix things up (literally) with our staff favourite, an Old Fashioned. We noted down this simple but satisfying recipe to make one yourself. It's super easy to whip together, yet pretty impressive to the outside eye and will take you travelling in your mind to evenings spent cosied up in Parisian bars or on light flooded terraces in Italy. Let's raise a glass, look forward and keep the good times going.

Old Fashioned

This is a pared back, all time classic cocktail - our version is with Arran whisky, reminding Cat, our founder, of home as she grew up visiting her Grandparents who live on the Scottish isle!

What you need?
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
How to make it?

1. Pour the sugar syrup, water and bitters into a short glass

2. Stir to combine, then add the ice cubes

3. Pour whisky over the ice and garnish with orange

Watermelon Cooler

Not into alcoholic drinks? We are fans of a well-made mocktail too, check out this recipe for an equally refreshing Watermelon Cooler ideal for Summer nights.

What you need?
  • Small pinch of flaky sea salt
  • 25ml lime juice
  • 50ml watermelon puree (we just blend ours)
  • 1 tbsp sugar syrup
  • Handful of ice cubes
  • Sprig of mint
  • 100ml soda water
How to make it?

1. Crush the salt and lime juice into a tall glass

2. Add sugar syrup, watermelon and mint sprig

3. Add ice and top up with soda
