From the very beginning, our founder Cat imagined her business with a preloved element at its heart. Fast forward five years, and we’re delighted to see the vision come to life with the support of our like-minded community.
“Half of my wardrobe is secondhand,” says Cat. “So it’s always made sense to incorporate my passion for preloved into treen. Buying previously worn clothing is essential to building a circular fashion economy and one of the most sustainable ways to update your wardrobe, so it felt like the perfect next step.”
Powered by Continue, a start-up supporting brands who care where their products end up, our marketplace is designed to be simple – no hassle, minimal effort and all the satisfaction of playing a small yet vital role in the circular fashion movement. We’ve put the technology to the test, successfully uploading products in less than a minute thanks to the information stored in treen customer profiles. Now it’s your turn.
Rummage through your wardrobe, save your neglected garments from gathering dust and follow our step-by-step guide to start selling your treen pieces.
1. Log into your treen preloved profile
Visit shoptreen.com and select ‘treen preloved' on the homepage menu. Click the person-shaped icon on the top right-hand corner of the browser, then simply enter the email address you used for past treen purchases. Within seconds, you’ll receive a link to access your portal.
2. Decide what to sell
Once you’re in, open your wardrobe via the ‘sell my item’ button and select the item you want to list. The best part? All the item information will pull through automatically, from the fabric composition to the original brand imagery.
3. Set a price
We’ll suggest a price for your preloved garment, but it’s entirely up to you. When you’ve set the price, choose whether you’d like it deposited into your bank account or saved as credit to put towards a future treen purchase.
4. Flag any flaws
You’ll be prompted to add details of the item’s condition – please mention any flaws or signs of wear so the buyer knows what to expect. You can also add your own photo to show how it looks on or close-ups of any damage. Once everything has been added, save the listing and your item will appear on our preloved page.
5. Browse available items
While waiting for your item to sell, why not take a peak inside other members’ wardrobes? When you find something you love, you can make an offer to the seller or buy it for the listed price.
