Tis the season for giving. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, we invite you to take part in our kindness drive.
On December 1st we launched our Random Acts of Kindness campaign, a 24 day-long event filled with merry surprises; from hidden candles in your online orders to charitable donations, every day until Christmas we'll do one positive thing for you and our community. Because if there's ever a time for giving back, it's the festive season.
To kick off the month, we've already announced free UK shipping for all of December, entered your orders into a lucky dip and set up a donation point in-store for homeless charity Social Bite. And there's so much more to come, including collaborations with fellow small businesses and initiatives in aid of causes we hold close.
Who is it for?
Let us tell you a bit about the charities we’ll be working with. You’ve probably heard us mention Smart Works, an inspiring non-profit that helps unemployed women across the UK dress and prepare for job interviews. Together with our customers, we’ve donated both clothes and funds to Smart Works in the past and are so excited to be partnering with them again.
Last year, we ran a Christmas campaign with Social Bite, and will be including them again in this year’s efforts. The Scottish charity serves freshly made food and hot drinks for homeless people in their cafes, which operate a ‘Pay it Forward’ system to encourage customers to buy food in advance for someone who needs it.
We’re also delighted to be working with a new partner charity, Surge Animal Sanctuary. As a vegan retailer, this recently established sanctuary feels like the perfect fit for our values. The group, led by activist Earthling Ed, offers a lifelong, no-kill safe haven to abused and unwanted animals.
We can’t wait to announce how we (with your help) will be contributing to these three hardworking charities over the coming weeks.
